As the coronavirus begins to spread and infect more people, it has come to the situation where even a newborn child is being affected by the virus outbreak. The virus is more likely to affect people from age groups 49 to 56 and it is a rare case that a child is infected by the virus.
The baby was born on February 2 and the mother was tested positive to the virus before her delivery. The baby was born in Wuhan, the epicenter of the virus. This case is still suspicious because doctors are not quite sure how the virus transmitted. Despite any doubt, doctors are saying," the virus might have infected the womb of the mother or the virus could have transmitted from mother's cough." The baby has been diagnosed and it looks like the baby is under the stable condition and under certain observation.
There are only a handful of cases of children suffering from the virus outbreak. Till, there have been two cases reported, one in Singapore where a six-month child tested positive and an eight-year-old child from Wuhan.
The virus has now spread overseas to 25 countries with 191 people infected by the virus. The virus has killed 563 people including two people away from the mainland and a total of 28,018 are affected all over the world. The WHO has announced the world health emergency and they are collecting funds to support the affected countries with medical support and care.
China has speedily built two hospitals within 10 to 11 days for the patients of coronavirus. Officials are saying that there is still a shortage of medical equipment and places to keep the patients. So, some of the public venues are now being changed into the care house or makeshift wards.
Thousands of people are still quarantined and lockdown in a ship. Countries that have lifted their citizens from China are being quarantined in military bases or kept isolated for the checkups and care- if they are tested positive to the virus.
