A massive earthquake hit Turkey last night

A seismically active country,Turkey is again hit by the earthquake of magnitude 6.8 on Friday night.

The earthquake hit Turkey on 10:55 local time and it took place in a small town Sivrice of province Elagiz. The town is remotely populated- locally there are 4000 people. It is also one of the tourist attractions in Turkey too.Many official forces have been sent to rescue people to the affected areas.

Turkey has a rough history when it comes to earthquakes and one of the most massive earthquakes ever recorded was on 1668 with magnitude 8.  Turkey had an earthquake of 7.2 magnitude in 1999 with a death troll of about 17,000. 

Now,the people are again terrified by the massive earthquake after yesterday's hit. People have left their home and come to the streets in Sivrice. Meanwhile, officials are sending beds, tents and blankets to the affected areas, where the night temperature falls down to 3°C.Moreover, many buildings have collapsed and one of the locals said that they were all so scared and furniture started falling on us.

Officials have claimed that the death troll have risen to 20 and people are worried after the earthquake hit. There have been more than 40 aftershocks recorded and many are said to stay outside and not go into affected buildings.
