The Portuguese midfielder has agreed to play for Premier League giant Manchester United at the fee of 55 million Euros and add-ons. The Portuguese player plays for Sporting Lisbon, a Portugues club. United had initially struggled to sign the player because of the high fee demand from his parent club which Manchester United denied to pay at first. Sporting Lisbon demanded a sum of 80 million Euros for their player that was beyond the willingness of the club to pay for the player.
But it looks like the Premier League team has to make their move before the transfer window closes which is, in fact, will close at 11 pm on Friday, January 31. Manchester United is in desperate need of midfielder while Paul Pogba is likely to be out until December recovering from his ankle injury with McTominay still unsure of returning to the club. The club is fifth in the league table with 33 points behind Liverpool who is top on the table.

The starting fee for the Portuguese player is around 55 million Euros but it is said that the add-ons could increase to 80 million ultimately. If the deal gets confirmed it would be the biggest of January transfer window in the Premier League so far. "The team needs to strengthen midfield this month," says the United manager. Fernandes joined Sporting from Sampdoria for 7.3 million in 2017 and has scored 64 goals in 137 matches. He has made 19 appearances for Portugal and was part of the squad that won the Uefa Nations League. The fee of the player is expected to increase based on his performance in the club and club progress to Champion League.
